Happy New Year – 2013 Edition
Cloud Computing, a help or hinderence?
Unless you have been living under a rock you will know that the next big thing is the concept of cloud computing. The basic idea has actually been around for some time when it comes to apps for authoring documents online such as the popular Google Docs which I have been using for 3 or 4 years.
Now there is one question which I asked myself last night, “what do you when the Internet goes off?”
Boldly Going Where No Google Doodle Has Gone Before
Today Google celebrate the 46th anniversary of Star Trek first broadcast… and Im going to admit it, yes Im a bit of a Trekkie.
As usual the creative boys and girls behind the Google doodle have turned the Google logo into the iconic Star Trek The Original Series crew.
3 years since Graduation
Its now been 3 years since I graduated from Liverpool John Moores, we all had our day at the Cathedral in the robes and mortarboards, unfortunately it was a pretty windy day in Liverpool that day but at least it wasn’t raining like it has been this July.
A great deal happens in 3 years, if your anything like me most people you spent 3 or 4 years with working hard to get your degree will have moved away and you will speak to them once in a while (even the ones you still live relatively near). Thats life though, it moves on.
Google Doodle Celebrates Amelia Earhart’s 115th Birthday
Today’s Google Doodle celebrates the 115th birthday of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. Earhart was the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic ocean, following only one year after Charles Lindbergh’s own Atlantic flight in 1927.
Alan Turing turns 100
Alan Turing, who is considered to be the father of computing and the man who tackled the problem of decoding German naval enigma would have celebrated his 100th birthday today.
Google marked the occasion in their usual fashion, with an interactive doodle based on the Turing Machine.
To New Beginnings!
After just off 2 and a half years I am to bid farewell to working in Liverpool and am looking forward to starting my new job in Chester as the sole member of the in-house web team for www.creativeplayuk.com.
